• Is There Any Way To Get Rid of Acne Scars?

If you are someone who has had bad acne and are wondering is there any way to get rid of acne scars then read on. You must realise that acne scars are a little more on the semi permanent side than just acne and as such you cannot just go applying an over the counter solution. More often than not, it will be necessary to see a skin care professional.
You should not try any extreme measures to get rid of acne scars your self as you could end up doing more harm than good. Below are four of the most common ways to be rid of scarring from acne.
Believe it or not, the techniques used below are actually similar to how most cosmetic scarring is dealt with.
Firstly there is laser resurfacing. This is one of the most common but since the equipment and possible dangers that are involved, you wont find a home laser kit any time soon. Get a proper dermatologist to deal with laser resurfacing if your serious about this approach. It involves the use of a laser to remove the top layer of scarred skin and at the same time the heat from the laser will smooth out the bumps. Healing takes a few weeks with good results.
Secondly we have dermabrasion. This procedure involves the use of small metal brushes that spin at high speed and literally scrape off the top layer of skin. This removes the acne scarring but since the treatment is quite strenuous on the skin surface, there will be longer healing times. This is also known to produce good lasting results.
Similar to dermabrasion is microdermabrasion. This is a more gentle version of the above described. Since the procedure is nowhere near as harsh on your skin, healing times are quicker but you will be required to usually make more than one trip to the specialist to complete the treatment.
Finally there are chemical peels. This technique is not nearly as harsh as the three described above and therefore the healing times are much quicker with little or lasting pain. It involves a mixture of chemicals that are applied to the skin to remove the scarred layers. In essence it is a little like a home exfoliate but just a little more intense.
In most cases, acne scarring will subside over time but this can be a year or more. The methods above offer the individual a way to short cut the waiting period.
